++INSTANT MILLIONAIRE++

I took 2 weeks off just to have early rest before starting 2009. Plus my ex-roomie for 5 years while at UTP, Nini came down to KL all along from Miri. We did some catching up, met few ex-UTPians and shopping. Nini, had not been shopping in KL for years. She really did 'shop-till-you-drop' thing. It was good for her, part of her theraphy remedy. She works in Miri, her hometown, very isolated from the hustle bustle of KL. She really saved up a lot of money because she bought many high-end stuff, like Gucci, LV, Fendi etc. I thought she was a millioanaire by just staying & working in Miri huhu... Funny because I don't even feel slightly jealous of her buying & shopping those stuff. Maybe I am not into those things.

I did drop by at my favorite bookstore and found a book which is listed as the best selling in that bookstore currently, 'Slumdog Millionaire'. The book title itself made me curious. When I found the book, the cover did not interest me at all. It is a movie tie-in book. The film was based in Mumbai and a lot of the actors are Bollywood's, which really does not interest me again as I am not a Bollywood fan. Yet I tried to read the synopsis.

The synopsis is interesting. It was about a boy who won 1 billion in contest and was prisoned by the police as people thought he was cheating. The story goes on explaining how the boy got all the answers correct. Then I saw many people took that book and the book becoming lesser and lesser and lesser. The book was selling fast. I quickly snatched a book and paid it asap. I feared that the book might sold out like the Twilight Saga which I still haven't finished collecting until today.

Later, I found out the movie was nominated in BAFTA, Academy Awards, Critics Choice Awards and Golden Globe Awards. It won best foreign movie or picture or something. I haven't read the book yet but this is really something. Made me feel like jumping to the book...hihi ... I still have a book to finish and I can't hardly wait to read Slumdog... huhu
